Got salt?

The Chinese government will probably shut my internet down for this, but I think it's worth posting anyways.

The earthquake in Japan has affected a lot of citizens in Rikuzentakata, as well as other neighboring town. The pictures look devastating, and they seem to handle the natural disasters so well. I pray for the safety of the survivors- battling to find adequate emergency supplies and food from the government.

The impact the earthquake in Japan has also caused the sea water near this area to be unsafe due to the nuclear power plants that still needed to be continuously cooled in order to prevent overheating. What does this mean to the Chinese? Sea Salt. Yes, you heard me right. People are panicking and rushing to get their share of salt. I didn't realize that it was such an issue, but apparently it is in the countryside. The city will not be affected by this, at least not right now. My coworker was giggling in his office and so I went over to check out what he was laughing about. This is the picture of people lining up for sea salt in the countryside.Crazy isn't it? I thought so to. But then again, salt is so important. I wanted to read this book about salt but never got to.
